I was at Walmart and came across a surprise: American Made Cooking Products.
I found these Lodge Brand cast iron skillets and found the smaller one to be ideal
for camping and it came in at a very reasonable <$10. price. When I saw that it was
made in the USA, that was just a big plus in my book. While being made in the USA
doesn't guarantee that it's a quality piece, it gives me more peace of mind that there
is at least more oversight in manufacturing and that Americans are working at making
these products. Anyway, I just did some research on the brand and it turns out they've
been around for over a hundred years and that they actually have a camping line too.
I'll be picking up one of their smaller skillets for my camp kit even though I already have a skillet that I just recently purchased. I never thought about getting a Dutch Oven, butLodge seems to have some really nice ones. Here's their site for anyone who's interested
in picking up some bulletproof American made cookware at Walmart for great prices.
